Windows Login Pin Issue

Windows 11

Problem

When signing into your Windows 11 computer, you are given the error message:

"Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your PIN again."
Formatted such:

Windows Username

Something happened and your PIN isn't
available. Click to set up your PIN again.
Set up my PIN

But after signing into to your Microsoft account you get the message:
"Enter the code we sent to example@email.com."
Except Microsoft never send you the email.

Solution

This is a Microsoft signing in problem. We need to change the sign in Method.

Step 1

On another PC or Phone, open an incognito browser

Step 2

Go to account.microsoft.com.
Enter your email address and click Next.
When prompted to enter a verification code, close that prompt.
Click on "Other ways to sign in".
Select "Use your password instead" from the available options.

If prompted to use an email passcode instead, choose password.
You may get asked to follow email verification, do so.

Step 3

Now try Windows 11 again. This time it should ask you to use your password.
